About

Hello! It's nice to meet you!  Welcome to my website.  I'm Suzanne Mills, a new local Kentucky artist.  "Hidden Treasure" is the name of my home art studio.  I feel as if I've just begun my artistic journey, though I've been in love with art my whole life. I only recently learned that I have an aptitude for painting when I was inspired by the Holy Spirit to create art for the Vacation Bible School program at my church, Gospel Kingdom, in April 2022.  When I discovered and felt the joy that came from that endeavor, I wasn't able to stop!  That desire to create had been hidden like a treasure inside me, hence the name. (I have to give credit to my friend Gail for naming me.) It is also a reference to the parable of the treasure hidden in a field from the Bible. (Matthew 13:44) We are Jesus' treasure, and he gave all that he had for us: his life. My main inspiration comes from my faith.  Jesus is life to me.  Just ask me sometime and I'll be able to share countless experiences I've had that explain why!

It's my desire to honor that love for Jesus by creating art inspired by the Holy Spirit.  But I also love creating custom paintings and art for anyone wanting to memorialize a special memory, place or event on canvas, or their choice of base material.  One of my first projects was an artistic and quirky mailbox! (Pictures of that coming soon.)

Although I am primarily self-taught and am new to the art scene, this is a life-long process for me and I'm still learning to discover the hidden joys of creating and making art.  It's so exciting!

To find out more about my work, or to commission me for a special painting for yourself or as a gift for someone else, (or if you want to learn more about what Jesus means to me) feel free to get in touch.  Keep in mind, for custom art work, a reference photo is especially helpful.

"Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, and cometh down from the Father of lights, with whom is no variableness, neither shadow of turning."

-James 1:17
